Installation & Activation Guide
PixelLens is distributed as a native Safari Web Extension built on Manifest V3. To enable it on your Mac:
- Download or build the latest PixelLens.app release from GitHub or the Mac App Store.
- Launch PixelLens.app once from your Applications folder to register the extension bundle with macOS.
- Open Safari on your Mac.
- Go to Safari > Settings... > Extensions, locate PixelLens, and check the checkbox to turn it on.
- Click "Always Allow on Every Website" so PixelLens can inspect active DOM nodes when invoked from the toolbar popup.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the 1-click lock and 2-click unlock work in Element CSS?
Hover over any element to view its live specs. Click once on any element (including buttons and file inputs) to lock the selection (border turns purple #5856D6). Click a second time anywhere on the page to unlock and return to live hover mode.
Can I run multiple PixelLens tools at the same time?
To keep your Safari browsing fast, lightweight, and clutter-free, PixelLens enforces a clean single-active tool architecture: activating any tool automatically turns off any other active tool cleanly.
Does PixelLens send my website data or code anywhere?
No. PixelLens has zero external servers, zero analytics, and zero telemetry. Everything is computed 100% locally on your device within Safari's isolated extension sandbox. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
